As a Site Reliability Engineer at Eneco you will ensure the stability, scalability and performance of critical systems by implementing monitoring, automation and cloud solutions. You will work independently and in cross-functional teams, mentor junior engineers, and lead initiatives to improve observability, operational excellence and release management.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the stability, scalability, and performance of systems and platforms by embedding reliability and automation principles into the software lifecycle.
- Implement monitoring solutions and observability tooling; define and refine SLOs and SLIs.
- Design small- to medium-scale cloud infrastructure and lead cloud architecture initiatives for medium-to-large projects.
- Develop and automate CI/CD pipelines and define branching and deployment strategies.
- Lead incident responses and drive operational excellence, including capacity planning and support model design.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers; share best practices and improve documentation standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, communicate technical trade-offs to stakeholders, and contribute beyond core responsibilities when needed.
Requirements
- 5–7 years of experience in software engineering or infrastructure management with contributions to complex digital products or systems.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Advanced cloud certifications are desirable (examples: Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer).
- Strong expertise with Kubernetes (CKA/CKAD mentioned) and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
- Experience designing and operating large-scale distributed systems.
- Deep understanding of networking, security, operations management, and a balance of software and infrastructure skills.
- Proven experience building and automating CI/CD pipelines and release management strategies.
- Experience with monitoring, observability tooling, capacity planning, incident response and defining SLOs/SLIs.
- Strong problem-solving skills, ability to thrive in ambiguity, and experience mentoring less-experienced engineers.

- Gross annual salary between €79,000 and €108,000 (including FlexBudget, 8% holiday allowance, and depending on role a bonus or collective profit sharing).
