Responsibilities

  • Continuously improve the reliability and performance of ClickHouse core.
  • Develop and enhance metrics and alerts to proactively detect and prevent production issues.
  • Investigate common problems in ClickHouse Core, identify root causes, submit bug fixes, and suggest improvements.
  • Enhance incident response processes and conduct blameless postmortem analyses for outages.
  • Coordinate with support and Cloud teams to communicate outage impacts to customers.
  • Plan and drive chaos engineering initiatives across teams.
  • Manage on-call processes and establish escalation best practices to reduce customer impact.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Reliability Engineering, Quality Assurance, or customer-facing engineering.
  • Experience operating ClickHouse or other SQL databases in production environments.
  • Strong understanding of distributed database internals and SQL, especially ClickHouse.
  • Scripting skills in Shell or Python, and ability to read C++ code.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Proficient problem-solving and production debugging skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, global team environment with strong ownership and communication skills.
