As a Software Engineer in Security Platform Engineering, you will be working on building capabilities and solutions for a variety of security use cases. Our team builds and maintains the platforms critical for security, compliance and privacy at Coinbase. You will be working on developing novel solutions for onchain security, web3 monitoring capabilities and associated services to protect Coinbase & customers. Responsibilities

• Build new services to meet critical product and business needs using Golang.
• Design scalable systems to solve novel problems with modern cloud technology and industry best practices.
• Articulate a long term vision for maintaining and scaling backend systems and the teams running them.
• Work with engineers, designers, product managers and senior leadership to turn product and technical vision into a tangible roadmap every quarter.
• Write high quality, well tested code to meet the needs of your customers.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in software engineering.
• Experience designing, building, scaling and maintaining production services; comfortable composing a service-oriented architecture.
• Strong backend development skills and habit of writing well-tested, maintainable code.
• Passion for building an open financial system and familiarity with security-minded engineering practices.

Nice to haves

• Experience with rapid company growth (startup → mid-size).
• Experience with blockchain technology (Bitcoin, Ethereum, etc.).
• Experience decomposing a large monolith into microservices.
• Experience with Golang, Ruby, Docker, Rails, Postgres, MongoDB or DynamoDB.
• Experience building financial, high-reliability security systems.

Compensation & Logistics

• Pay Range (Pay Transparency Notice): $149,500 — $149,500 CAD. Full time offers also include target bonus + target equity + benefits (medical, dental, vision).
