Software Engineer, Backend - Blockchain Platform (Staking Data)

The Staking Data team builds and maintains reliable blockchain data pipelines and APIs to support Coinbase's staking products, ensuring accuracy, scalability, and integration of new blockchain assets. This work enables APY-boosting technology and seamless staking experiences for retail and institutional users.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with teams across the company on integrations with staking services
• Build, maintain, and scale production services, data pipelines, and APIs for staking data
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain high code quality standards
• Troubleshoot and debug complicated problems in production
• Contribute to service-oriented architecture design and decomposition of large systems

Requirements

• At least 2+ years of experience in software engineering
• Experience designing, building, scaling, and maintaining production services
• Knowledge of composing service-oriented architectures
• Ability to write high-quality, well-tested code
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Passion for crypto and building an open financial system
• Familiarity with Go (GoLang) and/or Ruby is a plus

Nice to Haves

• Crypto background and familiarity with onchain activity (interacting with Ethereum addresses, using ENS, engaging with dApps)
• Experience with Solana data, indexing, and/or scaling large systems
• Experience decomposing large software systems

Work Location & Policy

• Remote-first role but not remote-only. In-person participation is required throughout the year for team and company offsites. Attendance is expected and supported.

Compensation

• Pay Range: $152,405—$179,300 USD (target annual salary; full-time offers also include bonus eligibility, equity eligibility, and benefits)
