Role Description

We seek experienced backend engineers to build the next generation of crypto-forward products and features. You will tackle unique, large-scale, and highly complex technical problems combining web-scale applications with blockchain technology. Responsibilities include building real-time applications with high frequency, low latency updates, and managing secure cloud infrastructure.

The Growth organization drives Coinbase’s mission by developing growth tools such as referral and incentives programs, notification systems, engaging logged-out web experiences, and optimizing new user onboarding to make buying, holding, and trading crypto assets easy and safe.

Responsibilities

• Build and run experiments to enhance the growth of Coinbase’s retail products.
• Design scalable systems using modern cloud technologies and best practices.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, product managers, and senior leadership to execute the product and technical roadmap quarterly.
• Write high-quality, well-tested code tailored to customer needs.

Requirements

• At least 2+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Experience designing, building, scaling, and maintaining production services with service-oriented architecture.
• Passion for building an open financial system that unites the world.
• Strong code quality and testing discipline.

Nice to Haves

• Experience launching products from zero to one.
• Familiarity with growth experiments or A/B testing frameworks.
• Knowledge of Blockchain technologies like Bitcoin and Ethereum.
• Experience with Golang, Ruby, Docker, Rails, Postgres, MongoDB, or DynamoDB.
• Background in fintech, highly reliable, and secure systems.
• Crypto-forward experience involving onchain activity such as interacting with Ethereum addresses, ENS, dApps, or blockchain-based services.
