This role sits on the Stablecoin Ecosystem team and focuses on backend development to deliver a suite of international stablecoins. The engineer will evaluate APIs of external partners, integrate them with internal systems to enable stablecoin operations, and collaborate with product, designers, and tech leads to deliver features. The team expects in-person participation throughout the year (team and company offsites are held multiple times annually).

Responsibilities

• Articulate a long-term vision for maintaining and scaling backend systems.
• Work with engineers, designers, product managers and senior leadership to translate product and technical vision into a quarterly roadmap.
• Evaluate and integrate external partner APIs with internal systems to enable stablecoin operations.
• Write high-quality, well-tested code to meet customer needs.
• Design, build, scale, and maintain production services and compose service-oriented architectures.

Requirements

• At least 2+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Experience designing, building, scaling and maintaining production services.
• Ability to compose service-oriented architectures (microservices) and decompose large monoliths.
• Strong emphasis on writing high-quality, well-tested code.
• Passion for building an open financial system and working with crypto/blockchain technologies.

Nice to haves

• Experience in rapid company growth environments (startup → mid-size).
• Experience building growth experiments or A/B tests.
• Experience with blockchains (Bitcoin, Ethereum) and onchain activity (interacting with Ethereum addresses, using ENS, engaging with dApps or blockchain-based services).
• Experience decomposing large monoliths into microservices.
• Experience with Golang, Ruby, Docker, Sinatra, Rails, Postgres, MongoDB, or Redshift.
• Experience building financial, high-reliability, or security-sensitive systems.

Compensation

• Pay Range (target annual salary): 149,500 — 149,500 CAD.
• Full-time offers also include target bonus, target equity, and benefits (medical, dental, vision).
