At Coinbase, our mission is to increase economic freedom in the world. The Institutional product group enables the foundations of Coinbase's institutional business supporting thousands of large financial institutions. The Institutional Financing Engineering team builds and maintains systems required to safely manage billions of dollars of loans across products such as Portfolio Margin, Trade Finance, Agency Lending and Bilateral Lending. The role expects an appetite for solving hard problems, working with high-caliber colleagues, and contributing to a fast-paced, security- and reliability-focused environment. While many roles at Coinbase are remote-first, in-person participation is required throughout the year for team and company offsites; attendance is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement new financing products and features for institutional financing products.
  • Create and build reporting, monitoring, tools, frameworks and APIs to support financing products.
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers and senior leadership to deliver quarterly roadmaps and tangible deliverables.
  • Improve developer efficiency, engineering excellence, and operational excellence across the team.
  • Provide support to operations and other engineering teams; ensure production reliability and supportability.
  • Mentor team members and help uplift the technical skill set across the team.

Requirements

  • At least 2+ years of experience in software engineering.
  • Experience designing, building, scaling and maintaining production services and composing a service-oriented architecture.
  • Strong focus on writing high-quality, well-tested code to meet customer needs.
  • Passion for building an open financial system and interest in crypto/blockchain technologies.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and provide operational support when needed.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Golang, Postgres, Kafka, Protobuf and React.
  • Experience building financial, high-reliability or security-sensitive systems.
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring, reporting, and operational tooling for production services.

Compensation & Location

  • Pay Range: $152,405 — $179,300 USD (target bonus + target equity + benefits may apply; exact compensation may depend on work location).
  • Role is remote-first (#LI-Remote). In-person participation in offsites and periodic events is expected.
