The Institutional product group supports Coinbase's institutional business, enabling institutions to custody digital assets and participate in the crypto economy. The Institutional Financing Engineering team builds and maintains systems to safely manage billions of dollars of loans across products such as Portfolio Margin, Trade Finance, Agency Lending, and Bilateral Lending. These financing products enable leverage, generate recurring revenue, and increase trading activity.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement new financing products and features for institutional financing.
• Create and build reporting, monitoring, tools, frameworks and APIs.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers and senior leadership to deliver quarterly roadmaps and tangible deliverables.
• Improve developer efficiency, engineering excellence, and operational excellence.
• Provide operational support to operations and other engineering teams.
• Mentor team members and uplift the technical skill set across the team.

Requirements

• At least 2+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Experience designing, building, scaling, and maintaining production services and composing a service-oriented architecture.
• Ability to write high-quality, well-tested code to meet customer needs.
• Passion for building an open financial system and working with crypto / blockchain technologies.

Nice to haves

• Experience with Golang, Postgres, Kafka, Protobuf, and React.
• Experience building financial, high-reliability, or security-sensitive systems.
• Familiarity with staking, governance, and web3 gateways is a plus.

Compensation

• Pay Range (target annual salary): $154,000 — $154,000 CAD. Full-time offers may also include target bonus, target equity, and benefits (medical, dental, vision).
