Software Engineer, Backend (Institutional - Prime)

We seek a passionate backend engineer experienced in crypto and blockchain technology to build the next generation of crypto-forward products and features. You will solve complex technical problems bridging web-scale applications and blockchain, building real-time, low-latency, secure, and scalable systems running in the cloud.

The Institutional product group supports institutional business with secure custody of digital assets and enables crypto participation with staking, governance, and web3 gateways. The team works on cutting-edge crypto technologies, scalable infrastructure, and UI across web, mobile, and browser extensions.

Responsibilities

• Decompose a monolithic Rails app into microservices
• Articulate and maintain a long-term vision for backend system scalability
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, product managers, and leadership to translate product and technical vision into quarterly roadmaps
• Write high-quality, well-tested code

Requirements

• 2+ years of software engineering experience
• Experience designing, building, scaling, and maintaining production services and service-oriented architectures
• Passion for building an open financial system
• Write high-quality, well-tested code to meet customer needs

Nice to Haves

• Experience working in a company with rapid growth (startup to mid-size)
• Experience with growth experiments or A/B tests
• Experience with Blockchains (Bitcoin, Ethereum, etc.)
• Experience decomposing large monoliths into microservices
• Experience with Golang, Ruby, Docker, Sinatra, Rails, Postgres, MongoDB, or Redshift
• Experience building financial, high-reliability, or security systems
• Crypto-forward experience interacting with Ethereum addresses, ENS, dApps, or blockchain-based services

Additional Information

• The position is remote (#LI-Remote).
• The target annual salary ranges from $152,405 to $179,300 USD plus bonus and benefits.
