At Coinbase, our mission is to increase economic freedom in the world. The Platform Product Group builds trusted, scalable and compliant platform services used across Coinbase. The Core Automation team focuses on AI infrastructure and automation solutions to enhance productivity for customer support and compliance teams, leveraging state-of-the-art AI models, frameworks, and extensive data sources (including blockchain data).

Responsibilities

• Explore and apply advanced GenAI techniques, including large language models (LLMs) and agentic AI, to solve complex challenges across the organization.
• Execute projects by managing priorities, deadlines, and deliverables, leveraging strong technical expertise.
• Write high-quality, well-tested code in Python and Golang to address critical product and business needs.
• Build scalable, secure systems using modern cloud technologies and industry best practices.
• Debug complex technical issues to enhance system reliability, scalability, and ease of operation.
• Review and ensure the security, scalability, and architectural integrity of feature designs across teams.
• Build pipelines to integrate with third-party vendors and streamline workflows.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Proven expertise in designing, building, scaling, and maintaining production services, with a strong understanding of micro-services architecture.
• Ability to write high-quality, well-tested code that meets customer needs.
• Deep understanding of what high-quality code and software engineering processes look like, and the ability to foster an environment that promotes them.
• Strong technical skills in system design and coding.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a preference for open and transparent cultural practices.
• Passion for building an open financial system that unites the world.

Nice to haves

• Experience navigating rapid company growth (e.g., from startup to mid-size).
• Familiarity with GenAI frameworks/tools, Python, Golang, Docker, Postgres, MongoDB.
• Background in AI/LLM infrastructure is a strong plus.

Compensation

• Pay Range (target annual salary): $152,405—$179,300 USD. Full-time offers also include bonus eligibility, equity eligibility, and benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401(k), etc.).

Team & Work Culture

• Coinbase is remote-first but not remote-only; in-person participation is required throughout the year (team and company-wide offsites are held multiple times annually).
