The Staking Validators team is responsible for operating all staking-related nodes at Coinbase and focuses on building secure, high-uptime infrastructure and optimizing yield for customers.

Responsibilities

  • Onboard, operate, and optimize proof-of-stake network infrastructure and validators at scale.
  • Build infrastructure to provide secure and highly available staking node operations.
  • Implement and maintain observability and monitoring solutions to ensure top-tier uptime and performance.
  • Continuously innovate to improve yield, performance, and reliability for staking operations.
  • Act as a "Protocol CTO" for owned protocols: engage with protocol communities and partners and drive technical direction for protocol success within Coinbase.
  • Collaborate with internal Coinbase teams and contribute to a best-in-class staking experience for internal and external customers.

Requirements (as described)

  • Experience operating and optimizing staking-related nodes / validator infrastructure for proof-of-stake networks.
  • Familiarity with observability and monitoring practices as a cornerstone for ensuring uptime and performance.
  • Experience with running staking nodes on Kubernetes and operating node fleets at scale (references to operating staking nodes on Kubernetes are included in public materials).
  • Ability to engage with protocol communities and partners and to innovate on protocol-specific operational improvements.
  • Strong focus on security, reliability, and performance when operating critical infrastructure.

Pay Transparency

The target annual salary for this position can range as detailed below. Full time offers from Coinbase also include bonus eligibility, equity eligibility, and benefits (including medical, dental, and vision).

Pay Range:

$154,000—$154,000 CAD
