Software Engineer, Frontend (Coinbase One)

This role is for experienced frontend engineers to build the next generation of crypto-forward products and features, focused on Coinbase One — a membership product that provides benefits like zero trading fees, boosted staking rewards, account protection, and priority support.

While many roles at Coinbase are remote-first, they are not remote-only. In-person participation is required throughout the year; team and company-wide offsites are held multiple times annually and attendance is expected and supported.

Responsibilities

• Build and help design elegant and functional user experiences.
• Own and implement product experiences that directly drive revenue for the company.
• Work with engineers, product managers, and senior leadership to turn vision into a quarterly roadmap.
• Add positive energy in meetings and contribute to an inclusive team culture.

Requirements

• At least 2+ years of experience developing web apps and shipping user-facing features with JavaScript and modern component-based JS frameworks such as React.
• Experience developing and shipping user-facing features using component-based UI frameworks.
• Familiarity with current trends and best practices in front-end architecture, including performance, security, and usability.
• Comfortable collaborating closely with designers, engineers, and product managers through product and design lifecycles.
• Ability to write high-quality, well-tested code that meets customer needs.

Nice to haves

• Experience with application security, specifically around two-factor authentication.
• Experience with crypto or financial exchanges.
• Crypto-forward experience, including familiarity with onchain activity such as interacting with Ethereum addresses, using ENS, and engaging with dApps or blockchain-based services.

• Pay Transparency Notice: The target annual salary for this position can range as detailed below. Full-time offers from Coinbase also include target bonus + target equity + benefits (including medical, dental, and vision).
• Pay Range: $152,205 — $152,205 CAD
• Answers to crypto-related questions may be used to evaluate onchain experience.
• AI Disclosure: Coinbase is piloting AI tools for initial screening interviews for select roles; a human recruiter will review interview responses. Coinbase will not use AI to make employment decisions.
