Team Description

Developer Experience (DevX) is responsible for ensuring engineers at Coinbase can build high-quality products productively and with engagement. The team provides infrastructure, libraries, frameworks, and tooling to make it easier and faster to build high-quality applications.

Responsibilities

• Own the frontend experience of the Internal Developer Platform (IDP), Coinbase’s Developer Hub.
• Build and maintain React components and pages that integrate with infrastructure products such as release pipelines, configuration management systems, asset management systems, real-time usage data, quality scores, and service documentation.
• Collaborate closely with backend engineers, designers, and API publishers to craft workflows that help teams publish, discover, and evaluate APIs.
• Elevate the quality and design of internal tools used daily by hundreds of engineers.
• Improve accessibility, performance, and reliability of the IDP UI.
• Partner with Staff Engineers, Product Managers, and Product Designers to influence product roadmap and UX priorities.
• Contribute to Coinbase’s broader design system and internal frontend libraries.

Requirements

• At least 2+ years building modern, data-rich web applications in React or similar frameworks.
• Experience developing and shipping user-facing features using component-based UI frameworks.
• Familiarity with front-end architecture best practices, including performance, security, and usability.
• Experience working within product and design lifecycles and collaborating closely with designers, engineers, and product managers.
• Ability to write high-quality, well-tested code that meets customer needs.

Nice to haves

• Experience launching new products from 0 to 1.
• Experience with rapid company growth (startup to mid-size).
• Experience on front-end teams in finance or platform services.
• At least 1 year of experience specifically developing React applications.
• Experience with Golang, GraphQL, Docker, and NoSQL databases.

Compensation

Pay Range: $152,405 — $179,300 USD (target annual salary; full-time offers may also include target bonus, target equity, and benefits).
