Software Engineer, Infrastructure (Platform DevX - Cloud Provisioning)

At Coinbase, our mission is to increase economic freedom in the world. The Cloud Provisioning team within DevX is responsible for the systems and processes that allow Coinbase engineers to provision infrastructure to run services that power Coinbase products in a simple, safe, and secure manner. This role involves building and maintaining cloud provisioning services, working closely with product and engineering leadership, and supporting internal customers.

Responsibilities

• Learn, build, improve, and maintain cloud provisioning services written in Golang and Terraform.
• Design scalable, fault-tolerant solutions using modern cloud technologies and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with engineers and leadership to translate product and technical vision into a quarterly roadmap.
• Provide high-quality customer support to internal engineers using cloud provisioning services.
• Write high-quality, well-tested code and maintain backend services and infrastructure.

Requirements

• At least 2+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Experience designing, building, scaling, and maintaining backend services and infrastructure.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), including Terraform.
• Proficiency in writing high-quality, well-tested code (services written in Golang are emphasized).
• Strong problem solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and drive issues to resolution.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-expectation culture; in-person participation is required throughout the year (team and company offsites are held multiple times annually).

Nice to have

• Crypto-forward experience, including familiarity with onchain activity such as interacting with Ethereum addresses, using ENS, and engaging with dApps or blockchain-based services.

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay Range: $152,205—$179,300 USD (target annual salary; offers also include bonus eligibility, equity eligibility, and benefits).
