This is an in-person, 12-week internship during summer 2026 based in our London office. Interns will join teams building the next generation of crypto-forward products and features, working on web-scale applications integrated with blockchain technology and operating real-time applications with high frequency, low latency updates. Teams operate secure, dockerized infrastructure in the cloud.

The Consumer Software Engineering team (London) is focused on the Coinbase retail app and its path to becoming the #1 self-custody wallet. Products include the Coinbase app, advanced trade, dApps, and staking.

Responsibilities

• Write high quality, well tested code to meet the needs of your customers.
• Work on projects with engineers, designers, product managers, and senior leadership to help turn product and technical vision into a tangible roadmap.
• Contribute to building systems that balance web-scale application constraints with blockchain integration, low-latency updates, and secure cloud infrastructure.

Requirements

• Have programming experience (in a class, for fun, or at a job). Most systems at Coinbase are written in Golang, JavaScript, and Ruby, but experience with any language is not a strict requirement.
• Enjoy thinking about how people interact with products and building user-focused experiences.
• Self-motivated and committed to personal growth.
• Approach problems with positive energy.

Nice to haves

• Currently pursuing a degree or certificate in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
• Experience with Golang, MongoDB, AWS, Docker, Postgres, Ruby, and Rails.
• Experience developing React Native mobile apps.

Pay

• Pay Range: £55,000—£55,000 GBP (target annual rate depending on work location)
