Role description

Software Engineering Interns at Sentry write real code on real projects that ship to production; no fetching coffee required. Interns are matched with one of Sentry's SDKs, Product, or Ingest teams based on interests and experience and are expected to design, develop, and ship programming solutions that drive real value to customers.

Responsibilities

  • Be matched with one of the SDKs, Product, or Ingest teams based on interests and experience.
  • Design, develop, and ship a programming solution that drives real value to customers.
  • Receive meaningful feedback, coaching, and mentorship from your manager and teammates.
  • Lead a project from ideation to deployment, including writing a tech spec, scoping work, implementing and testing, and shipping code.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or post-graduate degree program in Computer Science (or similar).
  • Experience with Python, JavaScript, Java, or a similar dynamic programming language through internships, personal projects, or coding competitions.
  • At least 1 previous internship or equivalent practical experience (though prior internship is not strictly required, Sentry expects interns to learn and deliver quickly).
  • Experience working with GitHub.
  • Experience collaborating with a team on an engineering project.
  • Ability to pick up a new programming language quickly.
  • Knowledge of fundamentals of algorithms and data structures.
  • Willing to relocate to Vienna for the duration of the internship.
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This is a full-time position.

Salary and Benefits

  • By law the minimum wage for this position is quoted as EUR 40,922 gross per year (in accordance with the respective collective agreement IT-KV).
  • Sentry's stated starting point for this role is EUR 44,000 gross per year.
