About the team The Solutions Architecture Team partners with our users to realize their full potential through the adoption of prescriptive solutions that drive their growth and success. We influence revenue growth across Stripe’s product portfolio and collaborate with sales, support, product management, and Stripe’s executive team to provide the best experience to our most valued customers.
What you’ll do
As a member of the team, the Solutions Architect will build highly consultative, trusted relationships with c-level executives and technical decision makers in the customer’s organization to provide business and technical thought leadership, and become a trusted advisor in solving mission-critical business challenges. You will architect business models that drive new monetization opportunities and growth for both the user and Stripe.
Responsibilities
- Be a key member of a Stripe account team with deep involvement in defining the customer strategy
- Identify and close complex new opportunities and accelerate solution adoption. Understand and align with the customer’s product and business roadmap, and uncover opportunities for Stripe to accelerate their progress on that roadmap
- Drive thought leadership and be a trusted advisor for key business and technical stakeholders including CIO, CTO, COO, CRO, CDO, Head of Product Engineering, and Head of Payments
- Deeply understand the customer’s business objectives, and design Stripe’s solutions to address their challenges
- Develop and articulate the end-to-end customer transformation journey and future roadmaps, including complex 3rd-party integrations
- Conduct business analysis and background research on customers, industries, and competitors to support growth for the user's business
- Lead strategy engagements with users to align to business priorities, design solutions, and secure the technical win through in-depth discovery, executive briefings, workshops, and solution demos
- Expand Stripe’s footprint within existing accounts into new global markets and business units by introducing new capabilities and local payment methods
- Act as the “Voice of the Customer” to share insights, trends, and opportunities with Stripe’s leadership, product, and engineering teams
- Participate in sales forecasting, Quarterly Business Reviews, and account/territory planning to ensure strategic alignment and execution
- Approximately 25% travel is anticipated to connect in-person with users and collaborate internally
Who you are
You are an experienced Solution Architect, Enterprise Architect, or Principal Solution Engineer with a strong track record advising large-scale digital native, SaaS, platform, or marketplace companies. You are deeply familiar with aligning technology strategy to business goals and designing holistic, scalable solutions. You bring high technical acumen, executive presence, and the ability to serve as a strategic partner and trusted advisor to senior leadership. You're comfortable navigating ambiguity, thrive in fast-paced environments, and are passionate about user impact.
Minimum requirements
- 7+ years of experience in a similar customer-facing engineering role (e.g., solution consultant, solutions architect, sales engineer) for a global software company
- Experience in the payments, billing, invoicing, issuing, banking, or fintech space
- Executive engagement skills with an ability to build credibility with key decision-makers at all levels
- Strong facilitation skills and confidence leading customer meetings to drive alignment and uncover opportunities
- Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle and API architectures
- Experience with or exposure to Stripe’s core languages (e.g., Ruby, Python, JavaScript, Java, Go) is a plus
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex topics to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
- A track record of ownership and driving meaningful outcomes
- Superior verbal and written communication skills in English and French
- Willingness to travel based on business needs

Hybrid work at Stripe
Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for individuals and their teams.
Pay and benefits
The annual salary range for this role in the primary location is €114,800 - €172,200. This range may change if you are hired in another location. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings (“OTE”) range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and specific location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the primary location may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.
