The Solutions Architecture team is responsible for ensuring the safe and effective deployment of Generative AI applications for developers and enterprises. The team acts as a trusted advisor and thought partner for customers, building backlogs of GenAI use cases and driving them to production through technical guidance. This role partners with news organizations to transform business through customer service, contextual search, personalization, and novel applications using OpenAI models and APIs.

About the role

We are looking for a driven solutions leader with a product mindset to partner with customers and ensure they achieve tangible business value with GenAI. You will pair with senior media leaders to establish a GenAI strategy and identify high-value applications, then partner with engineering and product teams to move from prototype to production. You will design enterprise architectures using the OpenAI API and other services, and collaborate closely with Media Partnerships, Sales, Solutions Engineering, Applied Research, and Product teams. This role reports to the Head of Solutions Architecture, Digital Native. This role is based in the New York office. We offer relocation support to new employees.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with news organizations (national/global publishers, non-profit, local, independent newsrooms) to implement technology across newsroom and business functions (customer service, internal operations, marketing, audience development, sales).
  • Deeply embed with sophisticated platform customers as a technical thought partner to ideate and build novel applications on the API.
  • Provide guidance to customers to maximize business impact and accelerate time to value.
  • Experiment and prototype solutions with and for customers.
  • Forge and manage relationships with customer leadership and stakeholders to ensure successful deployment and scale.
  • Contribute to open-source developer and enterprise resources.
  • Scale the Solutions Architect function by sharing knowledge, codifying best practices, and publishing notebooks to internal and external repositories.
  • Validate, synthesize, and deliver high-signal feedback to Product, Engineering, and Research teams.
  • Use expertise in programming with Python and JavaScript.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of technical consulting (or equivalent) experience.
  • Deep understanding of news organizations' business models, operating models, and relationships with readers and customers.
  • Proficiency in Python and JavaScript.
  • Experience building and/or delivering prototypes on top of the OpenAI API platform.
  • Experience leading complex technical projects and programs with many stakeholders.
  • Ability to identify opportunities to maximize customers' business value using the OpenAI API.
  • End-to-end ownership of problems and willingness to learn missing knowledge to succeed.
  • Humble attitude, empathy, and eagerness to help others.
  • Ability to operate with high horsepower, frequent context switching, expansive ownership, and strong prioritization.
  • Comfort navigating ambiguity in dynamic environments.
