Who we are

About Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies—from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups—use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone’s reach while doing the most important work of your career.

About the team

Stripe’s Startups Solutions Architecture (SA) team works with founders, CTOs, PMs, and engineers at early-stage and scaling startups to scope and design Stripe solutions. A Solutions Architect’s role is to build trusted relationships with technical decision makers, provide architecture and best‑practice guidance, and hand off to implementation teams for delivery. We create repeatable playbooks and 1:many programs to maximize coverage and velocity. The team also works with and influences startup partners—VCs, incubators, and accelerators—to evangelize Stripe’s solutions and accelerate adoption.

What you’ll do

As a member of the Startups Solutions Architect team, you will build highly consultative, trusted relationships with founders and technical decision makers to provide pragmatic business and technical guidance. You will design integration patterns for critical revenue infrastructure—spanning payments, subscriptions, platforms/marketplaces, and payout flows—so startups can unlock monetization opportunities and grow with Stripe from MVP through scale.

Responsibilities

  • Build relationships with founders, CTOs, product managers, and engineers; serve as a technical advisor and thought partner.
  • Deeply understand each startup’s business and stage; map Stripe solutions to near-term milestones and long-term vision.
  • Secure the technical win by delivering focused demos, designing integration patterns, and aligning technical narratives to the startup’s goals.
  • Run scalable, 1:many programs—office hours, webinars, accelerator/VC enablement—and publish reusable reference architectures to multiply AE capacity and reduce time-to-first-transaction.
  • Partner closely with GTM and cross-functional teams throughout the startup journey to align on deal strategy, run integration reviews, and coordinate clean handoffs that accelerate activation and adoption.
  • Be the voice of the user: capture and synthesize founder feedback, usage signals, and early-stage friction; translate insights into actionable changes to product and documentation, and close the loop with users.
  • Engage ecosystem partners (accelerators, VCs, and integration partners) to evangelize Stripe and source or advance opportunities.
  • Approximately 25% travel is anticipated to help you connect in-person in a meaningful way with users and collaborate internally.

Who you are

An ideal candidate should have experience working for medium to large software companies (preferably in fintech), focused on identifying business priorities, technology strategy, and solution design. You’ve acted as a trusted advisor to technical leaders—leading discovery, solutioning, and roadmapping—and guiding execution strategies in fast‑moving environments.

You are an external, pre‑sales architect who can present and whiteboard Stripe solutions with founders and CTOs, influence technical decisions, and translate business goals into scalable architectures. You bring experience with modern web/API and cloud architectures, and with designing and optimizing financial workflows.

Minimum requirements

  • 4+ years of total relevant experience (e.g. software development, enterprise sales, business development, etc.).
  • 2+ years in a technical, customer-facing role (e.g. solutions architect, sales engineer, customer success, professional services, support) at a fintech or high-growth software company.
  • Proficient in reading/writing code in two or more of Stripe’s primary languages (Ruby, Python, JavaScript, Java, Go), with strong familiarity with REST APIs, webhooks, and authentication.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills; comfortable explaining complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Curiosity-driven and able to rapidly learn Stripe products, APIs, and best practices—and stay current as they evolve.
  • Strong systems thinking with the ability to understand how diverse technologies interact (ERP, CRM, billing, tax, data pipelines, mobile/web clients, legacy systems).
  • Excellent organization and time management; able to prioritize across multiple accounts in fast-moving environments.
  • Team-oriented collaborator who works seamlessly within pod models and across GTM, Product, and Marketing.
  • Track record of solving open-ended business problems with a combination of technology, analytical rigor, and creative thinking.
  • Ability to travel per business needs.

In-office expectations

Office-assigned Stripes in most of our locations are currently expected to spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This expectation may vary depending on role, team and location. For example, Stripes in our Bucharest, Romania site have an 80% in-office expectation, and those in Stripe Delivery Center roles in Mexico City, Mexico and Bengaluru, India work 100% from the office. Also, some teams have greater in-office attendance requirements, to appropriately support our users and workflows, which the hiring manager will discuss. This approach helps strike a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility when possible.

Pay and benefits

The annual US base salary range for this role is $167,200 - $250,800. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the US may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.

Additional benefits for this role may include: equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses; 401(k) plan; medical, dental, and vision benefits; and wellness stipends.
