Responsibilities

• Provide front line tactical leadership and shape the strategic vision for the cybersecurity operations team.
• Support Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) with leadership across Information Security.
• Partner with security and product engineering teams to shape the security control and tool suite.
• Lead Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT) activities including team and tooling development.
• Manage Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI), tracking advanced threat actors and adjusting controls proactively.
• Maintain Insider Threat capabilities for identifying internal threats.
• Oversee Trust & Safety team investigating significant Account Take Over (ATO) and security loss events.
• Provide input on cyber technology capabilities and strategy to meet organizational needs.
• Support litigation activities involving cybersecurity implications.
• Ensure team allocation aligned with company's strategic priorities.
• Champion automation-first approaches for streamlined cybersecurity operations.
• Coach team on program plans, success criteria, and execution.
• Serve as escalation point and facilitate issue resolution.
• Lead by example in facilitating discussions, stakeholder presentations, and communication.

Requirements

• 5+ years building teams of 40+ in financial or technology companies.
• 10+ years leading security teams including 5+ years managing senior or 2nd level managers.
• 10+ years architecting, developing, and launching security operations functions.
• Experience prioritizing workload based on cyber risk and ROI.
• Strong analytic skills, ownership, accountability.
• Track record of delivering complex security solutions and risk management projects on time and budget.
• Ability to deliver quality solutions in dynamic, changing environments.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Service-oriented mentality driving organizational excellence.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Business acumen and understanding of how Security fits into product strategy.
• Ability to balance business needs, urgency, constraints, and pragmatic delivery in a fast-growing company.

Nice to Haves

• 10+ years security operations at top Consumer Internet, Technology, or Financial services company.
• 5+ years experience interacting with global financial regulators.
• Crypto native with significant Web3 working experience.

Salary

Target annual salary ranges from $338,385 to $398,100 USD, plus target bonus, equity, and benefits.

Location & Work Environment

While many roles at Coinbase are remote-first, this role requires in-person participation at various times throughout the year including offsites.
