The Difference You Will Make
Airbnb is seeking a Staff, Advanced Analytics, Geocentric Data and Insights to support Airbnb’s international efforts. This role is pivotal in analyzing both the supply and demand across countries, travel corridors, and customer segments to better understand the drivers of key business, financial, and customer metrics. The individual in this role will focus on in-depth data analysis, metric definition, benchmark creation, experimentation, and synthesis to high-level insights for prioritization.
A Typical Day
- Be the Commercial and Strategy Advanced Analytics owner and expert of geo-centric datasets focused on rental accommodation regulation, land use and zoning, housing economics, and travel and related services
- Design, develop, and maintain a complete suite of self-service dashboards and tools to provide geospatial insights to a variety of stakeholders across Supply, Policy, Comms, Regional and Country Management, and Real Estate.
- Conduct strategic deep dives and employ advanced data analysis to extract actionable insights that inform hyper-local decisions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Policy, Communications, Economics, Data Science, Legal, and Finance to align strategies and leverage complementary skills.
Requirements
- 10+ years of industry experience with a degree (Masters or PhD is a plus) in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, Operations Research).
- Deep expertise in comprehensive global and granular geocentric data sources, particularly for travel, accommodation, housing regulation, and economics
- Strong SQL and Tableau development skills
- Prior experience in advanced analytics or business data science within a marketplace or business strategy setting highly desirable
- Exceptional business acumen, strategic thinking skills, and the ability to make informed judgments.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with a variety of stakeholders and conveying complex concepts in an accessible manner.
- Proven stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence across functions independently.
- An agile, growth-minded approach, demonstrated through a history of driving projects from ideation to impact
Benefits
- This role may be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
- Base pay range is $176,000 to $220,000 USD annually.
Location
This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager. The candidate must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity.
