Responsibilities
- Provide critical input and influence technical direction.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to adopt team goals and roadmaps.
- Work with cross functional partners (Product Managers, Machine Learning Engineers, Data Scientists, Analytics) to design and deliver high-quality systems.
- Design and implement backend services to drive organic bookings and improve user experience.
- Lead architecture, prototyping, building, and launching solutions for host or listing success.
- Mentor engineers daily to ensure quality and direction, both within and outside of the team.
Requirements
- 9+ years of industry experience as a backend engineer with a BS, MS or PhD in a relevant field.
- Experience in building and scaling high-traffic, high-quality products or systems.
- Ability to evaluate technical approaches and design product solutions to solve real-world problems.
- Capability to drive alignment, manage projects, and effectively collaborate with stakeholders.
- Experience mentoring junior developers.
- Experience in merchandising domains is a plus.
