Responsibilities

• Provide critical input and influence technical direction.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to adopt team goals and roadmaps.
• Work with cross functional partners (Product Managers, Machine Learning Engineers, Data Scientists, Analytics) to design and deliver high-quality systems.
• Design and implement backend services to drive organic bookings and improve user experience.
• Lead architecture, prototyping, building, and launching solutions for host or listing success.
• Mentor engineers daily to ensure quality and direction, both within and outside of the team.

Requirements

• 9+ years of industry experience as a backend engineer with a BS, MS or PhD in a relevant field.
• Experience in building and scaling high-traffic, high-quality products or systems.
• Ability to evaluate technical approaches and design product solutions to solve real-world problems.
• Capability to drive alignment, manage projects, and effectively collaborate with stakeholders.
• Experience mentoring junior developers.
• Experience in merchandising domains is a plus.

Location

This position is US - Remote Eligible. Occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites may be required. Candidates must reside in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity.
