Details
Reddit’s Corporate Engineering Team is looking for a highly experienced Staff Data Engineer to advance the data architecture and ETL infrastructure powering our global corporate ecosystem. Your primary focus will be modernizing the data foundations that power financial systems and scaling data pipelines for broader enterprise and operational initiatives. The role is US remote-friendly.
Responsibilities
- Build & modernize core data infrastructure: lead evolution of existing integrations toward a modern, orchestrated architecture; design, build, and scale robust data pipelines into a cloud data warehouse, integrating data from enterprise systems (ERP/EPM/Treasury/HR).
- Own the data architecture: set long-term technical direction for the financial data warehouse and analytics strategy; evolve pipelines into a scalable, well-modeled platform that serves Finance stakeholders.
- Ensure institutional data integrity: establish automated reconciliation logic, data quality frameworks, and monitoring within Workato/Tines to ensure financial, billing, and tax data accuracy, traceability, and SOX compliance.
- Drive engineering excellence: introduce data engineering best practices in version control, CI/CD pipelines, error handling, and security standards for financial workflows.
- Partner cross-functionally: collaborate with Finance, Accounting, Strategic Finance, Legal, HR, and other teams to translate reporting, compliance, and operational requirements into automated technical solutions.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience engineering data integrations and pipelines across complex enterprise ecosystems; mastery of data standards, governance, and security.
- Hands-on experience architecting ingestion patterns to land high-volume data from source systems/middleware into cloud storage, with specific expertise optimizing data flows into AWS S3 to form clean staging layers or data lake landing zones.
- Deep commitment to modern data engineering standards: idempotent and resilient pipelines, data lineage, schema validation and schema evolution handling, and automated alerts for pipeline failures or data drift.
- Hands-on experience with modern orchestration tooling and a cloud data warehouse; proven track record designing data pipelines and schemas for analytics and reporting.
- Experience implementing pipeline observability, automated reconciliation controls, and data governance to support SOX compliance in a public company environment.
- Experience operating in Agile frameworks (Jira), managing sprints and backlogs, and delivering autonomously in cross-functional settings.
Nice to have
- Financial domain expertise (Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, Record-to-Report, billing, revenue recognition, month-end accounting impacts).
- Hands-on experience with ERPs/financial platforms (e.g., NetSuite, Coupa, Zip) and iPaaS tools (Workato); NetSuite schema and extraction experience (SuiteTalk REST/SOAP APIs, custom segments) is particularly valuable.
- Experience working within a modern cloud data platform and analytics ecosystem.

Pay Transparency
- Base salary range (US): $180,200 - $252,300 USD
- Eligible for equity (RSUs) and, depending on position, may be eligible to receive a commission
