The Brand Ad Formats team focuses on creating high-visibility, awareness-driven ad formats to help advertisers maximize reach and brand impact by delivering engaging and measurable ad experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Develop online systems used for ad rendering.
  • Build microservices and APIs powering the advertiser-facing product, ads.reddit.com.
  • Design backends powering interactive ad experiences.
  • Database design supporting ad technologies.
  • Work with product managers to define and improve ad products.
  • Lead efforts to improve operational stability including code quality and monitoring.
  • Collaborate across product, design, engineering, platform, and data teams.
  • Manage project timelines and communications.
  • Engage fully in the software development lifecycle: design, develop, QA, experiment, analyze, deploy.
  • Build extensible components aligned with product objectives.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of software development experience in general purpose languages such as Java, Scala, Go, C++, or Python.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience building backend systems with high scale and performance requirements.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals.
  • Proven technical leadership and mentorship abilities.
  • Experience in the Ads domain is required.

Bonus Points

  • Experience with full stack development.
  • Exposure to using large language models (LLMs) in production.

Compensation

Base salary range is $217,000 - $303,900 USD per year, with potential equity and commission depending on position.
