Information about the position

As a Staff Engineer you will be part of the Group Security - a domain which is working to protect the privacy of Vinted members and employees, and to secure the organisation against external and internal threats. To achieve this we are providing consultations, incident response, pentesting, vulnerability management coordination, privacy enhancing technology tooling, threat intelligence and other security and privacy related services across the whole organisation. We focus on practical solutions, often opting to build it ourselves

In this position, you’ll

• Set technological vision for privacy and security engineering teams within the group security domain;
• Define strategy and bring clarity for the implementation of the technological vision;
• Keep an overview of how the technological vision is being implemented, identify and help to resolve issues;
• Support the domain leadership when setting strategic direction, objectives and priorities;
• Align with other staff engineers to maintain a broad view of activities across the organisation;
• Achieve results by enabling and guiding others;
• Help to identify and coordinate the resolution of security and privacy risks;
• Establish and promote internal quality standards;
• Guide other engineering teams when implementing security and privacy engineering related solutions;

About you

• Possess an innate interest in the field of security and privacy;
• Experience in implementing security and privacy best practices in complex environments and with multiple stakeholders;
• Have a track record of a broader engineering experience, such as system administration and/or software development;
• Able to find a sensible balance between best practices and business needs;
• Good at articulating technical topics to stakeholders, including non-technical ones;
• Inclined to take ownership and strive for excellence;
• Committed to continuous personal and professional growth;
• Influence others with a soft touch and empathy;
• Drive arguments towards constructive outcomes;
• Excellent at communicating in spoken and written English;

The salary range for this position is €7,708 to €10,425 gross per month.
