Airbnb builds product experiences for guests and hosts globally. The Client Products & Emerging Tech team develops app-wide product features and frameworks across client platforms (iOS, Android, Web) and contributes to libraries and infrastructure such as the Design System, media frontend, and data access. This role focuses on end-to-end development of product areas that leverage emerging technologies, collaborating closely with Design and Product to prototype, develop, and ship innovative experiences.

Responsibilities

• Explore, shape, and develop new product experiences from ideation to implementation at scale alongside cross-functional partners (Design, Product).
• Establish technical vision and lead architecture, build, and launch reliable, performant, and scalable solutions that enable product innovation.
• Rapidly develop prototypes to validate ideas and translate prototypes into high-quality, maintainable production code through iterative development.
• Partner with peer engineering teams to integrate features that impact multiple product areas.
• Provide input on team roadmap and technical direction; influence stakeholders to adopt goals and roadmaps.
• Identify areas of improvement and drive engineering best practices.
• Mentor, guide, and support career growth of individual contributors.

Requirements

• 9+ years building iOS consumer applications at scale, preferably in Swift.
• Expertise in Swift or Objective-C, UIKit, and SwiftUI, with knowledge of UI architecture and UI performance.
• Experience shipping user experiences that include fluid interactions, motion, and graphics.
• Strong cross-functional partnership skills and ability to independently lead projects end-to-end.
• Experience leading multiple engineering teams, architecting, building, and releasing complex user products.
• Proactive about up-leveling self and others; fosters a collaborative and inclusive environment.
• Bachelors, Masters and/or Ph.D. preferably in Computer Science, or equivalent industry experience.

Location & Work Policy

• This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites as agreed with your manager.
• Candidates must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity (some states are excluded).
• Offices: United States.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base pay range: $204,000 — $255,000 USD.
• Role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.

Team & Tech Context

• Team is part of Product Foundations and contributes to libraries and frameworks such as Lottie and Epoxy and has enabled Airbnb's transition to SwiftUI.
• Emphasis on design-system driven development, UI frameworks, media frontend, and cross-platform client strategy.
