Reddit is a community of communities built on shared interests, passion, and trust. Reddit’s newly minted Ads Creative Effectiveness (ACE) team builds GenAI and predictive products that help advertisers ship high-impact campaigns. ACE focuses on best-in-class image, video and copy generators that leverage Reddit’s best practices, performance-guided generations, and brand-safe editing pipelines. This role is remote (United States).
Responsibilities
- Architect and implement state-of-the-art pipelines for ad creative generation and advanced generative workflows, moving beyond vanilla prompting to preserve product, font, logo and brand assets using techniques like IP-Adapters and LoRAs.
- Build end-to-end image and video editing capabilities (smart-crop, inpaint, outpaint, resize, style-transfer) while maintaining strict brand guidelines.
- Adapt large vision-language models (VLMs) and large language models (LLMs) to understand winning ad aesthetics; build feedback loops where ad performance metrics (CTR, CVR) are used to fine-tune the generation process (including RLHF/RLPF for ads).
- Design production-grade, low-latency inference stacks for diffusion and transformer models, optimizing trade-offs between generation quality, cost-per-impression, and serving speed.
- Engineer robust safety and compliance layers: filtering, brand-safety checks, copyright checks, and human-in-the-loop escalation paths to prevent non-compliant or unsafe content.
- Partner broadly with Product, Sales, Policy, UX, and sibling Ads ML teams to integrate ACE capabilities into the Ad Manager UI and the ad delivery path.
Requirements
- Deep machine learning expertise: hands-on experience with tree models, neural nets, ranking systems, and especially LLM/VLM fine-tuning and RLHF/RLPF for ads.
- Experience with generative AI techniques and tooling for image/video/copy generation and editing.
- Strong quantitative and experimentation skills: comfortable with uplift metrics, variance, minimum detectable effects, and experimentation setups for generative systems.
- Ads and marketplace insight: understanding auction dynamics and advertiser pain points to create tools that drive revenue and retention.
- Startup mindset: bias to action, comfort with ambiguity, and scrappiness.
- Excellent communication skills: able to distill complex ML trade-offs for executives, product managers, and non-technical stakeholders.
- Prior work on ad creative tooling (headline generators, image generators, pre-test models, editing flows) is expected.

Pay Transparency
- Base pay range (US-based): $230,000 - $322,000 USD
- Role may be eligible for equity (RSUs) and, depending on the position offered, commission
