Responsibilities

• Partner strategically with Product, Engineering, and UX Research to drive team strategy, product decisions, and roadmap priorities.
• Own end-to-end user journeys and all aspects of design execution from vision and ideation to prototyping, user testing, and final production.
• Partner closely with the Design Systems team to create scalable design frameworks and solutions.
• Establish and lead the design function for your product area.
• Provide mentorship and design feedback to other design team members.

Requirements

• 10+ years of Product Design experience.
• Proven track record of successfully leading the design function across a product area.
• Ability to own the end-to-end design process from initial concept to final implementation.
• Mastery of craft including strong visual and interaction design skills, prototyping, and UX best practices.
• Ability to collaborate and partner strategically with UX Research, Product, and Engineering to drive and influence product decisions and strategy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Low ego and open-minded.

Nice to Have

• Crypto-forward experience, including familiarity with onchain activity such as interacting with Ethereum addresses, using ENS, and engaging with dApps or blockchain-based services.

Interview Process & AI Disclosure

• For select roles, Coinbase is piloting an AI tool based on machine learning technologies to conduct initial screening interviews. The tool simulates realistic interview scenarios; recordings/transcripts will be assessed by a human recruiter against job qualifications.
• Coinbase is also piloting an AI interview intelligence platform to transcribe and summarize interview notes for some roles. These pilots are for testing purposes and Coinbase will not use AI to make employment decisions.

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay Range (target annual salary, depending on work location): $207,485 — $244,100 USD. Full-time offers also include target bonus, target equity, and benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401(k)).
