Staff Product Designer - Platform

At Coinbase we are building the emerging on‑chain platform and seeking a Staff Product Designer to help create secure, trusted, and easy-to-use cryptocurrency products for a broad range of customers. This role contributes to mission, vision, and strategy through deep understanding of customer and business needs and works closely with Product, Engineering, and cross-functional teams to deliver simple, elegant experiences.

Responsibilities

• Work in a small team to iteratively improve user experience
• Take new features from ideation to prototyping, user testing, and production
• Design intuitive web and mobile experiences
• Partner with the Design Systems team to document and define scalable design patterns and components
• Participate in regular design reviews, seek feedback, and incorporate relevant suggestions
• Execute on the product roadmap and help define product strategy
• Collaborate daily with Engineering, User Research, and Product

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional Product Design experience
• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• Experience designing consumer-facing experiences for web and mobile
• Excellence in UX thinking, visual design, and written communication
• Experience working collaboratively with engineers, user researchers, and product teams
• Fluency in Figma and prototyping tools
• Low ego, collaborative, and open-minded
• Interest in crypto or financial products
• PST time zone preferred (listed as a preference)
• Note: Coinbase is remote-first but not remote-only; in-person participation is required throughout the year (team and company offsites multiple times annually). Attendance at those events is expected and supported.

Compensation

• Pay Range: $207,485 — $244,100 USD (target annual salary depending on work location). Full-time offers may also include target bonus, target equity, and benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401(k)).
