About the role

As a Staff Product Manager on the Kafka Connect team, you will help drive Confluent Connect’s enterprise feature portfolio. You will be responsible for enabling seamless, enterprise-grade integration between Kafka and common external systems, and supporting on-premise deployments and managed services in Confluent Cloud. You are expected to use or introduce AI/ML capabilities for the features you build or enhance. You will work with the field on GTM initiatives and act as a focal point for customer success.

Responsibilities

  • Own the success of major product initiatives from initial conception and customer development through growth strategy.
  • Act as the trusted resource for your product: enable engineering, design, sales, and marketing to make the right trade-offs, build the right product, and grow it successfully in the market.
  • Collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams (engineering, design, go-to-market) to craft product strategy and roadmaps.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience as a software product manager, ideally for an enterprise technical product.
  • Strong technical competency with distributed data systems, public and private clouds, and stream processing.
  • Experience or familiarity with Kafka and Kafka Connect (Confluent Connect) and integration platforms.
  • Ability to craft product strategy and roadmaps in concert with customers and cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to distill technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Empathy for enterprise customers and a passion for solving their problems; willingness to be hands-on when needed.
  • Experience with enterprise software features such as security, networking, and observability is a plus.
  • Experience introducing or using AI/ML capabilities for product features is expected.
  • Bachelor's, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related technical field. MBA is a strong plus.

Benefits

  • Compensation range advertised: $206K - $242K (offers equity).
  • Confluent states it provides competitive pay and a wide range of employee benefits (link to benefits provided in original posting).
