Role overview

We’re hiring Staff Software Engineers to join the Platform Product Group. The Platform Product Group’s mission is to build a trusted, scalable, and compliant platform to maximize velocity, efficiency and quality. They build foundational systems used by multiple products and engineering teams so users have a consistent, high-quality experience.

As a Staff Software Engineer you will balance individual contribution with anchoring new projects, leading technical direction, and mentoring other engineers. The team values intellectual curiosity, openness, collaboration across the organization, and the ability to work on complex projects. The engineering team leverages a diverse tech stack and expects engineers to pick up whatever technologies are necessary.

Responsibilities

• Architect and develop distributed systems.
• Provide technical structure to teams and work closely with management and stakeholders to define strategic roadmaps.
• Manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables with technical expertise.
• Mentor and train other team members on design techniques and coding standards.
• Design and implement foundational infrastructure components used by every engineering team in production (e.g., dynamic configuration, secrets storage, container orchestration, etc.).
• Write high quality, well tested code to meet the needs of your customers.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Experience architecting and developing solutions to ambiguous problems with significant impact.
• Passion for building an open financial system and belief in the power of crypto and blockchain technology.

Nice to haves

• Experience scaling quickly (company growth from ~10 to hundreds of engineers).
• Experience decomposing a large monolith into microservices.
• Experience with Golang, Ruby, Docker, Sinatra, Rails, Postgres.
• Experience building financial, high-reliability, or security-critical systems.
• Crypto-forward experience, including interacting with Ethereum addresses, using ENS, and engaging with dApps or blockchain-based services.

Compensation

Pay Range: $218,025 — $256,500 USD (depending on work location). Full-time offers also include target bonus, target equity, and benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401(k)).
