The Platform Product Group’s mission is to build a trusted, scalable, and compliant platform to maximize velocity, efficiency and quality. They build the foundations that can be used by multiple products and teams at Coinbase so that users can have a consistent and high-quality experience.

The Core Automation team envisions a future where AI-powered operations lead to seamless, delightful experiences for customers and maximum value for shareholders. Towards this vision, our strategy is to 1) start with automating two key areas with Agentic AI: Customer Support and Compliance, 2) incorporate learnings from this automation experience and build primitives and orchestration solutions that allow us to scale, and 3) scale across a variety of domains enabling AI to enhance every part of customer experience and internal processes.

It is day 1 for us. We are laser focused on automating customer support and compliance processes today. This is not just focused on driving efficiencies by automating manual processes, but reimagining what processes and systems must look like in a fully AI driven automated world, and then bring that vision to reality, working across cross functional teams to offer a delightful customer experience, improve compliance posture and deliver outsized shareholder value.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement Agentic AI systems that power Coinbase’s customer support experience and compliance processes
• Design and implement orchestration, guardrails and measurement techniques that ensure AI Agents are grounded and relevant and offer customer delight
• Architect and develop distributed systems
• Provide technical structure to teams and work closely with management and stakeholders to define strategic roadmaps
• Manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables with technical expertise
• Mentor and train other team members on design techniques and coding standards
• Design and implement foundational APIs for use by LLMs
• Write high quality, well tested code to meet the needs of your customers

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering
• Experience architecting and developing solutions to ambiguous problems with significant impact
• Passion for building an open financial system and familiarity with crypto/blockchain concepts (answers to crypto-related questions may be used to evaluate onchain experience)

Nice to haves

• Experience getting LLM-based applications to production, including measuring and improving LLM grounding and reducing hallucinations
• Experience in the Customer Support, Compliance, or Financial Crimes domains

Pay Transparency Notice

The target annual salary for this position can range as detailed below. Full time offers from Coinbase also include bonus eligibility + equity eligibility + benefits (including medical, dental, and vision).

Pay Range:

$217,900—$217,900 CAD
