The Platform Product Group builds trusted, scalable and compliant platform capabilities (Product Foundations, Machine Learning, Customer Experience, Infrastructure) used across the company. The Risk Platform team builds scalable, intelligent and resilient systems to proactively identify, assess and mitigate risks to protect customer assets and fight fraud. This role expects in-person participation throughout the year for team and company-wide offsites (remote-first but not remote-only).

Responsibilities

  • Architect and develop distributed systems
  • Provide technical structure to teams and collaborate with management and stakeholders to define strategic roadmaps
  • Manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables through technical leadership
  • Mentor and train other team members on design techniques and coding standards
  • Design and implement foundational infrastructure components used by engineering teams in production (examples: dynamic configuration, secrets storage, container orchestration)
  • Write high quality, well-tested code to meet customer needs

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering
  • Experience architecting and developing solutions to ambiguous problems with significant impact (distributed, high-reliability systems)
  • Passion for building an open financial system and familiarity with crypto/blockchain concepts is desirable
  • In-person participation is required throughout the year (team and company offsites are held multiple times annually)

Nice to haves

  • Experience building financial, high-reliability or security systems
  • Exposure to or experience with online fraud prevention systems
  • Experience scaling a company rapidly (e.g., from 10 to hundreds of engineers)
  • Experience decomposing a large monolith into microservices
  • Experience with Golang, Ruby, Docker, Sinatra, Rails, Postgres
  • Crypto-forward experience: interacting with Ethereum addresses, ENS, dApps or blockchain-based services

Compensation and Benefits

  • Pay Range (depending on work location): $218,025—$256,500 USD (target annual salary)
