Airbnb's CRM Engineering team builds tools that drive growth and strengthen relationships between Airbnb and its community. The Growth Platform team is building an AI-driven growth engine to expand supply, provide sales insights, help hosts succeed, and build lead funnels to attract high-quality hosts. This role partners with product, design, data, and cross-functional engineering teams to scope and deliver impactful initiatives and prototypes that address complex business challenges.

Responsibilities

• Design the future state of technical systems by aligning high-level product goals with current systems and tradeoffs for short- and long-term solutions
• Lead engineers across teams to build technical solutions
• Participate in product and UX requirement development by engaging early with designers and product managers
• Nurture a culture of technical quality through design, code review, and production operations
• Mentor engineers to develop technical and collaboration skills
• Identify and propose solutions to technical and product engineering blockers
• Collaborate with internal teams across Hosting, Guest, Mobile, and Data Engineering

Requirements

• 9+ years of relevant software development experience in a fast-paced tech environment
• Strong proficiency in at least one major backend language (examples called out: Java, Kotlin, Scala, Python)
• Experience with modern frontend frameworks (examples called out: React, Angular, Vue.js)
• Proven track record delivering end-to-end products from ideation through launch in a collaborative environment
• Experience with architectural patterns for large-scale web applications, including well-designed APIs and high-volume data pipelines
• Familiarity with efficient algorithms and data-driven decision making
• Passion for building AI-driven applications and interest in data systems and analytics
• Good judgment balancing short-term business needs and long-term technical quality
• Solid understanding of how backend systems surface in UX
• End-to-end mentality that transcends team boundaries
• Excellent communication skills and experience working across engineering organizations
• Passion for efficiency, availability, and system quality

Benefits & Compensation

• Base pay range: $204,000 — $255,000 USD (actual base pay depends on training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands)
• This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits
• Remote-eligible for U.S. candidates who reside in states where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity; may include occasional office work or offsites as agreed with manager
