Staff Software Engineer, Guest & Host - Pricing Guidance Team

Airbnb was born in 2007 and has since grown to millions of hosts and billions of guest arrivals. The Pricing team empowers Airbnb hosts by providing tools and education to implement pricing strategies. The Pricing Guidance team works closely with engineering, Data Science, Modeling, Design, and Product to build host-facing pricing functionality.

Responsibilities

• Work with product and design partners to explore problem spaces and devise solutions to customer problems.
• Prototype new ideas and influence product strategy.
• Collaborate proactively with other engineering teams to develop iterative plans to improve APIs and architecture.
• Develop new host pricing functionality in partnership with product engineers and cross-functional partners.
• Create technical and execution strategies for new projects and drive hands-on implementation of those solutions.
• Identify areas for improvement and champion adoption of best practices in product development, engineering architecture, and testing.
• Perform technical design reviews and code reviews.
• Mentor and grow more junior engineers; set and drive best practices.

Requirements

• 10+ years of industry experience.
• Experience leading teams, setting technical direction, and building & launching high-impact user-facing products.
• Experience influencing partners such as designers, product managers, and other engineering teams.
• Comfortable ideating, prototyping, and influencing product direction.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work well across teams.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and grow more junior engineers and to set engineering best practices.
• Experience working with backend systems, APIs, and service-oriented architecture; collaboration with Data Science/Modeling teams is expected.

Location

• Remote - USA. This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed with your manager. You must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity; some states may be excluded.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base pay range: $204,000 — $255,000 USD (actual base pay depends on factors such as experience, skills, business needs, and market demands).
• This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
