Role overview

The iOS Platform team’s mission is to provide a best-in-class experience for iOS development at Airbnb to empower engineers to deliver innovative solutions with high velocity and quality at scale. The team’s work spans frameworks and tooling, build systems, CI, testing, and Xcode IDE integrations. The Airbnb application is nearly 100% written in Swift and uses modern Apple technologies including SwiftUI, Swift Macros, Swift Testing, structured concurrency, and Combine.

In this role, you will drive projects that increase the productivity of the iOS engineering community at Airbnb and unlock new capabilities through frameworks and tooling.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with team members and cross-functional partners to identify opportunities to improve developer productivity.
• Drive roadmap projects and deliver high-quality results to further the iOS platform mission.
• Improve and evolve existing frameworks and tooling to support ambitious platform goals.
• Work on foundation/platform/infrastructure development that underlies the Airbnb iOS app.

Requirements / Qualifications

• 5–9+ years of industry experience building iOS apps.
• Deep iOS expertise with experience in foundation/platform/infrastructure development.
• Experience building frameworks, including integration with code generation.
• Experience working in medium to large-scale codebases.
• iOS product feature development experience.
• Ability to travel to the San Francisco office about one week each quarter for gatherings.

Nice to have:

• 2+ years of experience using SwiftUI.
• 2+ years of experience using Apple’s modern concurrency offerings (Combine and Swift Concurrency / structured concurrency).
• Experience leveraging Agentic AI to drive large-scale migrations.

Location and work eligibility:

• This position is US — Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed with your manager.
• You must live in a U.S. state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity (see Airbnb careers for an up-to-date list of excluded states).

Compensation & Benefits

• Base pay range: $204,000—$255,000 USD. The actual base pay depends on factors such as training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands.
• This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
