Airbnb is powered by our Host and Guest communities. The Listings and Host Tools Data and AI (LHT-DnA) team supports host personalization products and provides data-driven solutions to improve host experience (managing your space, host quality standards, etc.). The team owns data pipelines and ML models and builds backend services used across these areas.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product and ML engineers to explore problem spaces and devise solutions to customer problems.
• Prototype new ideas and influence product strategy.
• Work with other engineering teams to develop iterative plans to improve APIs and overall architecture.
• Build backend systems and services that support data and AI solutions, including data pipelines and model serving components.
• Create technical and execution strategies for new projects and drive hands-on implementation.
• Perform technical design reviews and code reviews.
• Identify areas for improvement and champion best practices in product development, engineering architecture, and testing.
• Mentor and grow more junior engineers; provide technical leadership and guidance.

Requirements

• 10+ years of industry experience.
• Experience leading teams, setting technical direction, and building & launching high-impact user-facing products.
• Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional partners (designers, product managers, other engineering teams).
• Strong communication skills and ability to work across teams.
• Experience collaborating with product and ML engineers and delivering backend solutions for data/ML workflows.
• Proven ability to mentor and grow junior engineers and to set and drive engineering best practices.

Location & Work Model

• This position is US - Remote Eligible; the role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites as agreed with your manager. You must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity (see Airbnb careers for current excluded states).

Compensation & Benefits

• Base pay range: $204,000—$255,000 USD. The role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
• The actual base pay is dependent on factors such as training, transferable skills, experience, business needs and market demands.
