As a Payments Risk Supervisor at Coinbase you will ensure the integrity and security of payment systems by managing fraud risk, handling escalated cases, coaching and developing analysts, and implementing improvements in operational workflows. The role requires close collaboration with Workforce Management, Program, Quality and Training teams and relies on data-driven decision making to meet SLAs and quality metrics.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of ~15 Payments Risk analysts, driving performance, development, and engagement.
- Provide coaching based on quality and productivity metrics; manage performance and learning & development.
- Achieve SLAs, productivity and quality targets for the line of business/team members.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Program, Quality and Training teams to improve workflows and processes.
- Manage and support initiatives to prevent chargebacks and customer appeals while ensuring balanced enforcement.
- Use Payments Risk metrics to inform data-backed business decisions and identify product gaps and operational inefficiencies.
- Conduct audits to ensure compliance with fraud detection guidelines.
- Execute projects with prioritization and efficient execution.
Requirements
- 6+ years combating fraud in e-commerce or financial services.
- Minimum of 3 years of people management experience in an operations environment.
- BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong analytical skills and functional knowledge of common fraud patterns and payments risk metrics.
- Excellent track record of building and leading highly engaged, high-performing teams and using metrics to drive decisions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team; high self-motivation, accountability, and curiosity.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills; ability to prioritize competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to work from an office in Hyderabad, India; in-person participation is required throughout the year.
- Familiarity with tools used to track agent performance, collaborate, document procedures and analyze business data (see Tools & Technologies below).
Nice to have
- Experience at crypto exchanges or in financial services, ideally in payments, trading operations or technical support.
- Experience in project management, analytics or quality assurance.
- Degree in business, finance, customer experience and/or blockchain.
- Understanding of Google Workspace, JIRA, AWS, Salesforce Service Cloud.
