We are seeking a seasoned engineer for a new HR technology role within the Future of Work Pillar of the People Success Team. In this role, you'll develop scalable solutions that boost efficiency and advance our ambitious AI strategy, enabling our HR organization to leverage cutting-edge technology as we scale. The ideal candidate is an expert in software development—including system architecture, coding, API integrations, and automated testing, with proven agile experience. Our portfolio spans world-class cloud implementations, custom builds, and strategic AI integrations, and we're looking for someone with a strong technology consulting background who excels at making critical buy vs. build decisions.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and delivery of custom HR technology solutions that drive efficiency and support our ambitious AI strategy.
- Collaborate with IT, Enterprise Applications, HR Centers of Excellence, and Engineering teams to gather requirements and define cross-functional HR technology solutions.
- Evaluate new technology enhancements and make strategic buy vs. build decisions to optimize our HR portfolio.
- Model user experiences, business processes, system interactions, and data architecture to ensure seamless integration and robust functionality.
- Balance functional and non-functional requirements in designing scalable and resilient solutions.
- Automate processes to create simplified, intuitive experiences within Workday and other HR systems.
- Manage certain vendor relationships, including onboarding, privacy reviews, security audits, and compliance checks.
- Provide ongoing system support, configuration updates, and monitor system metrics to meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Collaborate with the HR Analytics team to deliver actionable insights and metrics that drive continuous improvement.
Requirements
- At least 6+ years of experience in software engineering.
- At least 2+ years of engineering management experience.
- Passionate about high-quality code, efficient engineering processes, and innovative conversational AI; leveraging chatbot frameworks, NLP, and NLU to build engaging chat applications.
- Expert in Chrome extension development with advanced JavaScript and modern frameworks; proficient in Chrome Extension APIs, Manifest V3, and robust security practices.
- Adept at applying AI and automation, from ML fundamentals to generative AI and workflow automation, to deliver impactful business insights.
- Experienced agile leader known for technical mentorship, orchestrating microservices, and steering projects that elevate operational excellence.
- Proven track record architecting scalable GCP solutions using serverless computing, cloud databases, and CI/CD pipelines to boost efficiency.
- Execution-focused mindset, adept at navigating ambiguity and delivering results.
- Exceptional communicator with a talent for articulating vision and influencing stakeholders across the organization.
- Demonstrated success in launching large initiatives that transform the status quo.
