Responsibilities
- Design and implement OpenBMC Core Infrastructure and features for GPU Server platforms.
- Bring up BMC firmware, perform performance analysis, and code various manageability features for NVIDIAβs server platforms.
- Develop and contribute to reviews, working closely with the open-source community to enable NVIDIA features and platform requirements.
- Craft solutions for errors, stats, and configuration related to CPU, GPU, DIMM, SSDs, NICs, IB, PSU, BMC, FPGA, CPLD for enterprise readiness of NVIDIA Server platforms.
- Design and develop performance-optimized active monitoring BMC solutions using DMTF Standards, including MCTP, Redfish, SPDM, and PLDM specifications.
- Instrument code to ensure maximum test coverage, write and automate unit tests, and maintain detailed unit test case reports.
- Provide software quality reports based on static analysis, code coverage, and CPU load.
- Collaborate with the security team to align code development with product security goals and with hardware teams to influence hardware design and review architecture and schematics.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree or higher, or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, or Electrical Engineering.
- 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Expertise in BMC Firmware development on x86 or ARM platforms including BMC-BIOS communication, thermal management, power management, firmware update, device monitoring, firmware security.
- Board bring-up experience with device drivers such as I2C/I3C, SPI, PCIe, SMBus, mailbox, and device trees for U-Boot and Linux kernel.
- Experience with out-of-band or in-band system management and standards such as IPMI, KCS, DMTF Standards (PLDM, MCTP, Redfish, PMBus, NVMe).
- Understanding of REST architecture style, particularly JSON over HTTPS with OAuth.
- Strong programming and scripting skills in C/C++, Bash, Python, Go, for Linux user-space and system programs, with code reviewing expertise.
- Solid Linux fundamentals, experience with various Linux distributions and packages, Linux upgrade mechanisms, building and deploying Linux images.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong work ethics, collaboration capacity, and a commitment to quality and task completion. Self-starter with a passion for solving complex problems.
