Airbnb's Host Pricing organization is hiring a Tech Lead Manager (TLM) to lead the Pricing Guidance team. The team builds pricing guidance tools that help hosts run their businesses by providing pricing strategies and personalization. The role partners closely with ML engineers, PMs, Designers, Data Scientists, and other engineering teams to build scalable guidance and modeling infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for a team of Backend and Data engineers delivering scaled pricing guidance solutions.
• Serve as the active point of contact between ML and Product teams to ensure models can be trained and deployed quickly and product teams can take guidance data to market.
• Develop and refine pricing guidance strategy in collaboration with cross-functional partners.
• Ensure scalability, throughput, and extensibility of pricing guidance modeling infrastructure.
• Understand and evaluate the implications of model changes on user experience and business outcomes.
• Partner with product and internal engineering teams to align on goals and deliverables.
• Drive development of innovative guidance and personalization strategies to enhance user engagement and satisfaction.
• Coach, uplift, and increase the craft and velocity of the team.

Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant industry experience, ideally with 2+ years domain experience in marketplaces and/or pricing.
• At least 2 years in a technical leadership role (preferably as a Tech Lead Manager).
• Hands-on experience building machine learning systems, recommendation systems, and data-driven products.
• Experience with model training, deployment, and infrastructure that supports high throughput and extensibility.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences and varying seniority levels.
• Strategic thinker with experience defining and delivering 1+ year technical/product vision.
• Prior experience in multi-sided marketplaces is preferred.

Location & Work Model

• Remote (USA) — position is US Remote Eligible. Occasional office work or offsites may be required as agreed with manager. Candidates must reside in a US state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity.

Benefits & Compensation

• Base pay range: $204,000 — $255,000 USD per year.
• This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
