Details

Coinbase is seeking a Technical Program Manager II to join the Security Programs team and drive cross-functional security initiatives that protect customer funds and data. The role partners with security and business stakeholders to identify, measure, manage, mitigate, and report risk associated with products, and to enable engineering and product teams to act as owners of security risk. The team acts as cohesive tissue for critical initiatives, maintaining an objective view of cross-functional work and prioritizing resources toward initiatives that mitigate risk.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with program sponsors and cross-functional Security partners to document opportunities, challenges, and risks across traditional and novel security domains.
  • Objectively assess opportunities, challenges, and risks using qualitative and quantitative factors; identify key risk indicators (KRIs) and performance indicators (KPIs) for program performance.
  • Propose prioritization of scope, roadmap, deliverables, and budget for new initiatives with a focus on driving cross-functional initiatives that incrementally increase program maturity.
  • Influence adoption of critical initiatives on the roadmap by working closely with program sponsors and cross-functional teams.
  • Rapidly identify and escalate risks to enable proactive collaboration and timely resolution.
  • Provide program status to Security leadership, ensuring transparency on key metrics and program effectiveness.
  • Concurrently manage multiple critical projects: establish and update milestones, risks, and timelines; manage workstream states and dependencies; hold teams accountable for deliverable quality; assess and communicate impact of delays on timeline and security risk.
  • Conduct regular data analysis on security control performance to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives within security programs, leveraging data to optimize workflows and enhance efficiency.
  • Author Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) to focus teams on short- and long-term goals.
  • Manage change across complex multi-quarter programs and use retrospectives to propose opportunities for process and program optimization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related field.
  • 5+ years experience as a program manager or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in security, risk management, compliance, information systems or other relevant fields.
  • Strong understanding and proven experience with formal program management methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of and experience in the cyber/security domain.
  • Exceptional time management, facilitation, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to translate complex concepts simply for varied audiences.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Nice to haves

  • Professional certification such as PMP, CISSP, or CISA.
  • Working knowledge of and experience in the technology and/or financial technology industry.
  • Experience working across all three lines of defence (3LOD).
  • Experience or participation in the cryptocurrency industry.
  • Advanced understanding of Google Workspace, JIRA, Linear, Superset, Looker and SQL.

Pay Range

  • Target annual salary: $175,100 — $175,100 CAD (full-time offers also include target bonus + benefits).
