We wish to improve our operational processes and create new and innovative data driven products that go beyond traditional banking, such as the platform models. Achieving this vision will require us to build and expand on our analytical efforts and organize ourselves around focused value buckets with strong coordination capabilities of data, technology, customer journey, UX, as well as external partnerships.
Responsibilities
- Participate in three ~6-month rotations over a 2-year traineeship to gain broad exposure across Analytics tracks.
- Work as a Data Analyst, Business Analyst or Analytical Customer Journey Expert depending on rotation.
- Collect, analyse, experiment with and visualize data to create insights and drive customer value.
- Build dashboards and analytics products (in some rotations) for internal stakeholders and clients (e.g., Wholesale banking dashboards).
- Gather requirements from users and stakeholders and design corresponding user journeys.
- Collaborate with product teams, data scientists and engineers to contribute to analytics products used across ING.
- Work on a group assignment with trainees from other tracks to solve a business-relevant challenge.
- Network internally to arrange subsequent rotations and to secure a permanent position after the traineeship.
Requirements
- University MSc degree in a related field (examples listed: Computer Science, Econometrics, (Applied) Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Information Science).
- Passionate about using data to create impact and generate personal and relevant customer interactions through insightful analyses.
- Experience with querying languages (e.g., SQL, SAS).
- Preferably experience with dashboarding tools (e.g., Cognos, Power BI).
- Strong command of the English language.
- Understanding of the economic landscape & banking industry.
- Demonstrated personal development through extracurricular (often international) activities.
- Creative, curious, team player with the ability to balance independence and collaboration.
Training, Coaching & Programme Details
- The programme is 2 years long with three rotations (~6 months each).
- HR trainee manager supports rotation choices and coaching; line managers and senior mentors are available for guidance.
- Participation in two Global Trainee events and various virtual trainee days across ING.
- Encouraged to gain international experience during one rotation.
- Interviews for selection take place at ING headquarters in Amsterdam. Two interview rounds are scheduled (Round 1: Nov/Dec 2025; Round 2: Jan 2026) with specified HR and Business Panel windows.

- Gross monthly salary of €3.943 (based on a 40 h/week).

Location & Working Hours
