An era in which NVIDIA’s GPUs act as the brains of computers, robots, and self-driving cars that can understand the world. Doing what has never been done before takes vision, innovation, and the world’s best talent. As an NVIDIAN, you will be immersed in a diverse, encouraging environment where everyone is inspired to do their best work.

We are looking for a Software/CAD engineer to join a team developing custom circuits that help power NVIDIA’s next generation of AI chips. You will create novel flows for circuit design and verification to help expedite chip development.

Responsibilities

  • Develop scalable CAD solutions for a dynamic roadmap.
  • Employ good software engineering practices to develop efficient EDA/CAD tools for chip development.
  • Build flows and methodology around vendor EDA tools to streamline circuit design and verification workflows.
  • Support circuit design engineers to automate design tasks.
  • Work closely with design and CAD engineers to support the existing development infrastructure, identify improvements and solutions.
  • Collaborate with multiple teams across geographies: circuit design, layout, technology teams, and 3rd party EDA tool vendors.

Requirements

  • MS in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of CAD flow development and design methodology experience in VLSI.
  • Good programming skills in multiple languages (Bash, TCL, Python, Perl, Makefile).
  • Prior experience with development, testing and deployment of EDA tools.
  • Self-starter with passion for growth, enthusiasm for continuous learning, and willingness to share findings across the team.

Preferred / Ways to stand out

  • Experience working with industry-standard EDA tools like HSPICE, PrimeSim-XA, ESP, NanoTime/PrimeTime, Totem/SeaHawk.
  • Knowledge of DC/Transient analysis, cross-corner PVT and Monte Carlo simulations.
  • Previous work in VLSI, ASIC, or EDA.
  • Ability to use the latest AI tools to improve design productivity.
  • Experience in evaluating CAD products and driving EDA vendors to meet the team’s requirements.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary ranges (determined by location, experience, and peer pay):
    • Level 3: 136,000 USD - 212,750 USD per year
    • Level 4: 168,000 USD - 264,500 USD per year
  • Eligibility for equity and benefits (link to NVIDIA benefits provided in original posting).
