Information about the position

We are seeking a Java or Golang Backend Developer to join our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team within the Production Engineering domain. Together with a team of experienced colleagues you will be responsible for the evolution and maintenance of Vinted's data streaming infrastructure. This includes supporting and improving streaming services and real-time data products (Events / CDC). Additionally, you will work on Vinted’s asynchronous communication infrastructure and libraries, enhancing data exchange between services. Our Production Engineering domain is responsible for ensuring the Vinted platform operates 24/7 and provides essential infrastructure to other teams.

You'll work with a diverse tech stack, including:

• Streaming: Apache Kafka, Flink and Schema Registry
• Languages: Go, Ruby, Java, Scala
• Databases/Storage: MySQL, Vitess, Elasticsearch, Ceph, Redis
• Monitoring/Observability: Prometheus, Thanos, Grafana
• DevOps/Orchestration: Rocky Linux, Chef, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Istio, Argo CD and more.

In this position, you’ll

• Support and evolve event-driven architectures using Kafka, Flink, and Schema Registry to ensure stream processing, reliable messaging, and data consistency
• Support and evolve asynchronous communication platform based on Apache Kafka to ensure fast and reliable messaging, and data consistency and security
• Solve complex technical problems with significant business impact

About you

• Strong programming proficiency in Golang or Java family languages
• Experience with data streaming frameworks (e.g., Flink, Spark-streaming, Storm, Kafka-streams, Kinesis) or with messaging frameworks (Watermill, Kafka-streams, Karafka)
• Solid understanding of core infrastructure concepts (compute, storage, network)
• Familiarity with modern software development lifecycles
• Knowledge of Agile, DevOps, and automation practices (testing, build, deployment, CI/CD)
• Working proficiency and strong communication skills in English (written and verbal)
• Curious, growth-oriented, and eager to deepen your expertise in our technologies and concepts

The salary range for this position is € 4,975 - € 6,725 gross per month.
