The newly formed Data & Insight (D&I) Area in the Tribe Identity and Access Management (IAM) is looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer with strong experience of data engineering to join our Insight Squad. The IAM Tribe is divided in four areas: two that focus on offering IAM services to employees and engineers and two (where D&I is part of) responsible to build a platform and core functionality to support every IAM need of Rabobank.
The D&I Area is responsible for bringing IAM data into the global data platform, curating data to address key IAM challenges and we will develop machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities into IAM services. Our data and consumption patterns range from reporting to real-time analytics.
You and your job
You work in the following context: the team is consuming services from Rabobank Lake House, Analytics and reporting services and you ensure that the team has access to the services it needs to build the product that is envisioned and you are also ensuring that the right software development principles are put in place. Your job focusses on two key domains.
- As a DevOps engineer, you collaborate with other squad DevOps engineer in ensuring that we have a compliant platform to deliver our services. You build deployment pipelines following Rabobank standards to ensure deployment automation, you set up squad principles and manage CI/CD practices and you are the point contact for infrastructure compliance topics.
- As a Data Engineer, your primary focus is to enable the squad by managing large data workflows. You ensure that data is collected, stored and processed and made accessible to reports and insight services. You ensure that data pipelines are automated, data storage solutions are flexible, effective and scalable.
You closely collaborate with the data ingestion squad and D&I solution architect to build the infrastructure and data processing capabilities that are simple to use and can solve many of the key challenges in the squad. You are not alone in this journey, together with another DevOps Engineer, you look out for industry standards, best practices and ensure that the team adheres to those. Furthermore, you are an advocate of DevOps principles when developing Data & Analytics products.

- Designing and developing new solutions in the Microsoft Azure stack, such as Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Azure DevOps deployment pipelines, Synapse Analytics, Azure Analysis Services, Power BI, Airflow, etc.
- Working together on new innovative solutions for complex business needs.
You and your talent
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in e.g. computer sciences;
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Data Engineer in a complex IT landscape.
- Experienced in working with SQL and developing data product solutions
- Experienced in working with Azure data platform. For example ADF, Databricks, Synapse, Azure DevOps. Knowledge of Python, Spark, Airflow is preferred
- Knowledge of data modelling in Analysis Services or Power BI
- Great analytical and problem-solving skills
- Very good communication and cooperation skills
- Agile mindset and experience in working agile/scrum
