As an Engineering Manager you will shape the technical direction of Eneco’s digital customer platforms and lead two cross-functional product teams focused on customer acquisition and retention. You will be a hands-on leader (approximately 20% hands-on development) who provides architectural direction, hires and develops engineers, and partners with Product Managers to deliver scalable, customer-centric solutions that drive retention, acquisition and customer lifetime value.

Responsibilities

  • Lead two agile product teams (about 8 FTE) working on customer acquisition and retention initiatives.
  • Own the technical landscape and provide architectural direction for scalability and security.
  • Drive technical excellence across the stack: React.js / Next.js, Sitecore JSS, .NET Core, and mobile technologies (Kotlin, Swift, KMP, Jetpack Compose, SwiftUI).
  • Stay hands-on with development (~20%) while primarily enabling and coaching the team.
  • Translate roadmap priorities into technical execution in partnership with Product Managers; advise on feasibility and trade-offs.
  • Facilitate agile rituals (stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives) to support delivery and team cohesion.
  • Recruit, mentor, and grow engineers across frontend, backend, and mobile disciplines.
  • Champion modern engineering practices, continuous improvement, and a culture of experimentation.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a strategic technical leader in a product-driven environment.
  • Hands-on expertise with modern frontend, backend, and mobile technologies (explicitly called out: React.js / Next.js, Sitecore JSS, .NET Core, Kotlin, Swift, KMP, Jetpack Compose, SwiftUI).
  • Experience building and scaling digital products that reach thousands of users.

  • Gross annual salary between €95,000 and €145,000 (including FlexBudget, 8% holiday allowance; depending on role: bonus or collective profit sharing).
