The EAA CX Agent Experience organization is part of Enterprise Applications and Architecture and builds a unified and secure agent tooling platform to proactively surface, investigate, and prevent illicit financial activities, enhance agent productivity, reduce user friction, and support Coinbase’s goal of bringing a billion users on chain.

This role is remote-first but in-person participation is required throughout the year for team and company-wide offsites. #LI-Remote

Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow an engineering team focused on delivering secure, scalable, and efficient compliance and customer experience tools.
  • Wear multiple hats across Customer Experience, CX Agent Experience, and Technology leadership to deliver product features and underlying infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors to evaluate solutions and drive build-vs-buy decisions.
  • Coach direct reports, support career development, and create an environment that generates and vets innovative ideas.
  • Work with engineers, designers, product managers, cross-org stakeholders, and senior leadership to produce a quarterly roadmap and iterate on design and implementation.
  • Break down complex projects into smaller pieces and iterate rapidly.
  • Provide a thoughtful technical voice and support the team in making sound architectural decisions.
  • Collaborate with talent teams to source and hire engineers who expand Coinbase’s culture and product.
  • Own and deliver processes that drive engineering quality and meet engineering SLAs.
  • Anticipate and mitigate potential issues, communicating program updates to technical and non-technical leaders.
  • Distill complex technical themes so that entry-level and non-technical stakeholders can understand them.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in software engineering.
  • At least 2 years of leading large distributed teams with technical leadership responsibilities.
  • Experience creating, delivering, and operating multi-tenanted, distributed systems at scale.
  • Strong understanding of high-quality code and software engineering processes, with an ability to foster an environment that produces them.
  • Execution focused with ability to navigate ambiguity; capable of both long-term thinking and short-term planning.
  • Passion for human interface tools and improving agent productivity and user experience.
  • Strong agile mindset; able to orchestrate technical resources in resource-challenged environments.
  • Proven ability to bring order out of chaos with minimal guidance.
  • Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.

Pay Range

  • $186,065—$218,900 USD (target annual salary; full-time offers also include bonus + equity + benefits)
