ABN AMRO Clearing is a global leader in clearing, offering access to a wide range of listed instruments on markets across the globe. IT is at the heart of the organisation where product and platform teams build core systems for the firm. The Core Clearing Services block is undergoing a modernization transformation and is looking for an Engineering Manager who will combine people leadership with hands-on development in (Open)RPG.

Responsibilities

• Act as the point of contact for team members in the Core Clearing Services block, responsible for HR management and personal development (~30% of the role).
• Enable, guide and contribute to the development of the core clearing system by programming in (Open)RPG (~70% of the role).
• Coach and grow a development team (typically 4+ people) and support the team during a modernization transformation.
• Collaborate with other teams and stakeholders to design and consume REST APIs and modernize legacy systems.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in IT (overall experience expectation).
• Hands-on programming experience in (Open)RPG / IBM RPG (Full Free) — experience in IBM RPG is explicitly referenced as valuable (5+ years listed as nice to have).
• Experience coaching and managing development teams in a professional context (teams of at least ~4 people).
• Experience using REST APIs; familiarity with REST API design is a plus.
• Experience programming with Synon is a big advantage.
• Experience with Node.js and Angular is nice to have.
• Nice to have: containerization (Kubernetes or similar), CI/CD (git, automated pipelines).
• Fluency in English (Dutch is not required).
• A curious / learning attitude and natural leadership qualities.
• Interest in working in an international team and learning about financial markets and derivatives.

Benefits

• Gross monthly salary: €6.793 - €9.704 per month (based on a 36-hour work week; includes vacation pay and benefit budget).
• The salary above is based on a 36-hour work week. Benefit budget is 11% of the salary (paid out monthly if not used in the Benefit Shop).
• Five weeks of vacation per year with the option to purchase up to four additional weeks.
