Role summary
We are looking for a Fraud Rule Writer to monitor trends, analyze data and create rules in our application to protect end clients. The role involves analysis of fraudulent patterns and cybercrime, preparing reports and statistics related to business rules, writing rules that support the application, creating SQL queries and coding in high-level programming languages, and cooperating with clients and other teams (alerts' handlers, business analysts, developers, etc.). The team uses Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban). The global role naming convention: "Fraud Rule Writer IV".
Responsibilities
- Analyze fraudulent patterns and cybercrime to determine possible counteractions
- Prepare reports and statistics, especially related to business rules
- Write rules that support the fraud-protection application
- Create queries in SQL and code in high-level programming languages
- Support and cooperate with clients (various ING Group divisions across multiple countries)
- Cooperate with other teams within the area (alerts handlers, business analysts, developers)
Requirements
- Master's degree or degree in mathematics, informatics, physics or similar
- Experience analyzing large data sets and knowledge of statistics; able to prepare statistical calculations
- Experienced with creating SQL queries and query optimization
- Knowledge about threats related to cybercrime (phishing, malware, social engineering, skimming, etc.)
- Knowledge about programming and ability to learn new languages and technologies
- Ability to use regular expressions
- Familiarity with fuzzy logic
- Precision, attention to detail and ability to find errors
- Creative and optimal problem-solving skills; ability to think outside the box
- Knowledge about fraud detection systems in banking
Extra points for:
- Creating automation tools using VBA/Python
- Knowledge of PowerBI and building dashboards
- Knowledge of HTML and JavaScript
- Ability to work independently, show initiative and take responsibility
- Knowledge of Agile
- Fraud-related certifications (CFE, ACAMS)
